I spent about 6 weeks working on this beer commercial generated in Computer Graphics at 422 South.
For this particular project I put my hands on concept art, look development, matte paintings, CG lighting, texturing and a little bit of particle work and 3D modeling.
Here , 2 illustrations that I did to conceptualize the look for underwater shots and the video has the full commercial.
Rogerio Alves and Craig Howarth were the CG supervisors and Martin Blunden was the lead 3D artist.
Photoshop for the artwork and textures. Maya for the 3d CG job.

A Sketch a day
I have been doing or at least trying to do one sketch a day, no matter how busy I am at the studio. My only rule or constraint for now is to use a horizontal frame for them, so I`ll stick with it to see what I can do with a more cinematic format. You can see all togheter in this Flickr Set.

Drain the Ocean
Drain the Ocean was a huge project that we did at 422 for National Geographic Channel to show the incredible landscape of the ocean floor. All drained underwater landscapes were created in Computer Graphics (CG).
I was the Art Director for the Visual Effects, being responsible for the concept arts, storyboards, the CG cameras, look development and some animations, Rogerio Alves was the VFX Director, taking care of the pipeline and on-set supervision and Chris Hunt was the Senior CG artist, developing the CG landscapes with Terragen 2 software.
The Terragen website has a PDF presentation for the technical aspects of the Draining the Ocean case.
Here, there is a link for the clip with a selection of shots and here, the official NatGeo hotsite for the show
